Speake-Marin - Velshida

Product Details

Speake-Marin watches, originally founded and run by master watchmaker Peter Speake-Marin, are in a genre of their own. With its own workshop, the company is able to produce its own movements and develop in-house calibers. The brand honors its original designs by building upon the initial designs and evolving with the demands of the time. Collections include the Art Series, featuring artworks directly on the dials, chronographs, as well as Haute Horlogerie creations that boast delicately crafted pieces such as the Vertical Double Tourbillon.

With aesthetics echoing that of a compass, Velsheda offers a minimalistic display of time, using a single blued-steel hand to indicate hours and minutes. Two superimposed "topping tool" motifs: one displaying seconds, the other the hub of the double-ended hand overlap, creating ever-changing patterns that bring the dial to life. The Velshida movement is based on the Vaucher 3002, though all functions save for the hours have been dropped. The present example has a titanium case.
