New limited Augsburg & Aachen POLAR 39 shine in radiant white

Pforzheim, February 2025 – Clean lines, a unique blue shimmer, and uncompromising functionality – with the new POLAR 39 edition, Laco expands its popular series of limited basic models with a more compact size. Following the great success of the 42 mm version, the collection now enters its next phase: a 39 mm variant that preserves the signature design elements while setting new standards.

The stainless steel case with a satin finish offers the perfect balance between presence and wearing comfort at 39 mm in diameter. Both the front and back feature sapphire crystal. While the exhibition case back provides an unobstructed view of the automatic movement, the front crystal can be optionally equipped with double anti-reflective coating. This not only enhances readability but also adds a subtle blue shimmer, further emphasizing the edition’s carefully curated colour concept.

At the heart of the watch lies the crisp white dial, available in two distinctive designs: the Augsburg POLAR 39, following type A with a clean, minimalist layout, and the Aachen POLAR 39, based on type B, featuring a bold separation of hours and minutes for optimal readability. The metallic blue shimmering indices create captivating accents, lending the dial exceptional depth. By day, Superluminova C3 Blue Line gives the numerals a subtle greenish hue, while at night, they illuminate in a striking turquoise blue – inspired by the mystical glow of a polar night. Complementing this colour scheme, the thermally blued frame hands are also filled with Superluminova C3 Blue Line. The traditional thermal bluing process is not only an aesthetic highlight but also a hallmark of fine watchmaking craftsmanship. Unlike painted hands, their deep blue hue is achieved by carefully heating the steel to a precise temperature, seamlessly blending into the shimmering blue elements of the POLAR 39.

The new models are powered by the automatic Laco 2S movement, based on the reliable Miyota 82S0, featuring a hacking function. For those who prefer an extended power reserve, an upgrade to the Laco 31 calibre is available. This enhanced movement offers over 60 hours of power reserve and features thermally blued screws, which harmonize perfectly with the watch’s colour concept.
Completing the design is a brown leather strap with light stitching and classic rivets, reinforcing the aviation-inspired character of the models while ensuring excellent comfort on the wrist.

The new Augsburg POLAR 39 and Aachen POLAR 39 will be available starting February 13, 2024, at Laco and selected retailers for a price of $805 CAD
