The Arken Alterum is a modern titanium sports watch designed with practicality firmly in mind. Its lightweight titanium case, 200 metres of water resistance and sapphire crystal make it particularly well suited to everyday wear, travel and more active use, while still keeping the overall package comfortable on the wrist.
One of the Alterum’s more distinctive features is its modified ARK-9015DT2 automatic movement, based on the Miyota 9015 and incorporating a 12-hour GMT hand. This gives the watch an additional level of usefulness for anyone travelling regularly or keeping track of a second time zone, without turning the dial into something overly complicated.
The dial is highly legible, with substantial BGW9 Super-LumiNova markers and hands, while the screw-locked crown, secondary control and caseback reinforce the watch’s purposeful, tool-watch character. The fitted quick-release nylon strap also keeps things practical and suits the lightweight nature of the titanium case particularly well.
This pre-owned example is in very good overall condition. It has been worn and therefore shows the minor signs of use one would reasonably expect from a pre-owned watch, but presents very well overall. A distinctive and capable option for someone looking for an automatic sports watch that offers genuine everyday versatility without following the usual dive-watch formula.
